Korunk nemzetközi blueséletének egyik legkiemelkedőbb alakja, Big Daddy Wilson nagyon különleges életutat tudhat magáénak. Az aprócska, elszigetelt és nagyon szegény észak-karolinai Edentonból származó Wilson Németországban töltött katonaévei alatt ismerkedett meg a bluessal. A visszahúzódó, szegény déli fiú első dalai és versei hazájától sok ezer kilométerre, egy német lány szívéért születtek. A blues feloldotta a gátlásait, és nem sokkal később meleg, lélekkel teli énekhangja már Németország szerte a jam estek meghatározó alakjává tette. Azóta több, mint egy tucat stúdióalbuma jelent meg, olyan nagy sikerű dalokkal, mint a Walk a Mile In My Shoes, a Cross Creek Road vagy a Thumb a Ride.

One of the most outstanding figures in contemporary international blues, Big Daddy Wilson has had a truly remarkable life journey. Hailing from the tiny, isolated, and very poor town of Edenton, North Carolina, Wilson first encountered the blues during his years as a soldier in Germany. The shy, impoverished Southern boy wrote his first songs and poems thousands of kilometers from home, inspired by the heart of a German girl.

Blues helped him overcome his inhibitions, and before long his warm, soulful voice made him a defining figure at jam sessions across Germany. Since then, he has released more than a dozen studio albums, featuring hits such as Walk a Mile in My Shoes, Cross Creek Road, and Thumb a Ride.
